Jamshedpur: The Senior Superintendent of Police in Jamshedpur Kishore Kaushal held a monthly crime review meeting with the Superintendent of Police (City/Rural), all Deputy Superintendents of Police, Zonal Inspectors, Police Station Incharges, and Branch Incharges.
During the meeting, the Senior Superintendent of Police issued several key guidelines. Firstly, Police Station Incharges and Inspectors were briefed about the three new criminal laws set to be implemented from July 1, 2024. The Deputy Superintendents of Police were directed to ensure that their subordinates were thoroughly informed about these new laws.
Secondly, instructions were given to form a special team under the leadership of the Superintendent of Police (Rural) to ensure the timely execution of warrants, proclamations, and attachments. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of law enforcement in these critical areas.

Additionally, police stations experiencing an increase in cases of vehicle theft, house breaking, and chain snatching were called upon to provide an explanation within two days. Failure to provide a satisfactory explanation will result in action being taken against those stations.
Proposals were also requested for opening PITNDPC (Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) and surveillance measures against the accused in NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) cases. This step is part of the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the district.
In matters concerning the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, police station in-charges were ordered to ensure that all related cases are resolved within 60 days, avoiding unnecessary delays. This directive underscores the importance of swift justice in cases involving children.
Furthermore, active criminals in the district with more than two property-related or serious cases registered against them were to have CCA (Crime Control Act) or surveillance proposals submitted to monitor and curb their activities.
To improve the passport verification process, instructions were given to complete verifications within five days and upload the results on the portal. It was emphasized that applicants should not be harassed unnecessarily during this process.
Immediate action on complaints received under the Emergency Response Support System 112 was mandated, with a directive for the concerned officer to respond within 30 minutes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Senior Superintendent of Police honored the Deputy Superintendents of Police, Police Inspectors, Station House Officers, and Election Cell employees who performed commendably during the Lok Sabha elections. They were awarded certificates in recognition of their excellent work.
