Jamshedpur Police Solve Parsudih Murder Case; Married Lover Arrested

Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Police have solved the murder of a young woman found dead at a government school in Sopodera. Within 12 hours of the discovery, officers arrested the victim’s alleged lover, exposing a tragic story of pressure and betrayal.

The Investigation and Arrest

City SP Lalit Meena identified the accused as Sonu Karmakar, a resident of Birsanagar Zone 2B. The victim, who resided in Birsanagar Zone No. 2, was reportedly involved in a relationship with Karmakar, who was already married.

Police investigation revealed that the woman had been consistently pressuring Karmakar to marry her. This ongoing demand became a major source of tension between the two, leading to a fatal confrontation on Saturday.

Fatal Confrontation at Sopodera

According to the police:

  • The Meeting: The duo met at an isolated government school premises in Sopodera to discuss their relationship.
  • The Argument: A heated argument erupted over the issue of marriage.
  • The Crime: In a fit of rage, Karmakar allegedly strangled the woman to death and fled the scene.

Acting on technical leads and local intelligence, the Parsudih Police tracked down Karmakar and took him into custody. He has since been sent to judicial remand. SP Lalit Meena reaffirmed the department’s commitment to ensuring swift justice, earning praise from the local community for the rapid resolution of the serious crime.
