Jamshedpur: Police pressure allegation after teenager suicide 

Seraikela, September 7: A 16-year-old teen committed suicide by coming in front of a running train in Seraikella alleged due to the pressure of Dinesh Sahu, the so-called police informer in Seraikela police station.

According to reports 16-year-old Sagar Rana, a resident of Seraikela market, committed suicide by jumping in front of a train near Sini railway station.

Angry residents of Seraikela along with the family members of the deceased laid siege to the Seraikela police station with the dead body of the youth.

They demanded action against Dinesh Sahu, the so-called police informer of Seraikela police station, who was responsible for the suicide of the deceased youth, Sagar Rana.

Uma Rana, the mother of the deceased Sagar Rana, has filed a written complaint at Seraikela police station, demanding punitive legal action against Dinesh Sahu and Seraikela police station in-charge and to give appropriate compensation amount to her family.

Uma Rana, the mother of the deceased Sagar Rana, while registering a complaint at the Seraikela police station, has told that at around 5:05 pm on last Wednesday, Dinesh Sahu inquired about Sagar after coming to the grocery store located at his house.

On the demand of Dinesh, 13 year old daughter Maina Rana gave the mobile number of her elder brother Sagar to Dinesh. When mother Uma Rana inquired about the matter from Dinesh Sahu, he told that Sagar had a stolen mobile. For which he will be jailed.

If he takes Rs 50000 and goes with him to the station in-charge, then he will be saved.

After this, Dinesh went to Sagar’s house twice in search of him. When daughter Maina Rana called her brother Sagar several times, he was telling that his mobile was switched off.

It is alleged that Dinesh Sahu was threatening Sagar by standing outside his shop. They received a call around  12:05 in the night. On receiving information by daughter Maina Rana, Sagar Rana’s dead body was lying near Sini station.

The complaint alleged that Sagar Rana had been forced to commit suicide by Dinesh Sahu and Seraikela police station in-charge.

The residents of Seraikela along with the family members of the deceased youth who were agitated over the case, stood in front of the Seraikela police station for about six hours on Thursday demanding Dinesh Sahu’s arrest.

The anger subsided after the Superintendent of Police suspended the Seraikela police station in-charge and the relatives took the dead body with them.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, MLA representative Sanad Kumar Acharya reached the spot at Sini railway station and resolved the ongoing tussle between GRP and RPF regarding the dead body and got the dead body taken to Seraikela by ambulance and informed the matter to the relatives of the deceased.

On the spot, the MLA representative said that complaints about Dinesh Sahu have been received continuously. Police should investigate the entire matter and take necessary action against Dinesh Sahu otherwise complaint will be made before local MLA and minister Champai Soren.

The father of deceased Sagar Rana had passed away two years back. And he was helping in running the family while living with his mother and sister.
