Jamshedpur Police paste posters of absconding accused in Tonto and Jhinkpani

Jamshedpur: In a decisive move to apprehend absconding suspects, the Sundarnagar police on Thursday pasted posters at the residences of two accused who have been evading court proceedings for an extended period. The accused, Madhusudan Sinku alias Madhu and Munna Kujur, are wanted in connection with a case pending in the court of SDJM (Jamshedpur).

Both accused, residents of Tonto and Jhinkpani police station areas in West Singhbhum district, are implicated in a fraud and theft case registered at Sundarnagar police station (Case No. 17/2023). Madhusudan Sinku alias Madhu: Resident of Jamdih Jikilta Talabasa (Tonto PS area) and Munna Kujur: Resident of Jodapokhar Takhta Bazaar (Jhinkpani PS area).

The case against them is lodged under sections 420 (cheating), 379 (theft), 395 (dacoity – amended), and 419 (impersonation for fraud) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). However, despite repeated summons, both have failed to appear in court for an extended period.

Following their prolonged absence, the court issued a directive to put up posters at their homes, notifying them and the public of their fugitive status. This move aims to exert social pressure on the accused while aiding law enforcement in their search.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for May 6, and authorities are intensifying efforts to track down the absconding individuals before the court date.

The pasting of posters is a measure increasingly being used by Jharkhand police to ensure compliance with court orders, particularly in cases where accused persons deliberately avoid judicial proceedings. Similar steps have been taken in other districts, signaling a firm stance against those attempting to evade the law.
