Jamshedpur police on toes for Ramnavami, organize flag march

SSP inspects control room, warns hooligans against misadventure

Jamshedpur, March 30: City police here tightened their girdles to ensure peaceful celebration of Ramnavami. They made elaborate security arrangements for Ramnavami procession which would be taken out tomorrow by different Akhara committees across the city.

On the eve of Ramnavami procession today, a flag march was organized in the city by the district police. The march was taken out from the CCR office located at Sakchi police station premises. To different contingents of police organized the march. One of them was sent towards Mango, Bishtupur, Kadma and Sonari while the other was sent towards Golmuri, Telco, Burmamines and Parsudih.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar inspected the Composite Control Room (CCR) and saw CCTVs installed here. He issued instructions to the on-duty officers. He said those deputed at the CCR should keep hawk’s eye across the city through CCTVs for the next 48 hours. He said the on-duty staff would get their meals and refreshments in the CCR itself.

The SSP said that the flag march was attended by senior police officials including the SP City, SP Rural, SDO, all DSPs, all SHOs and other police personnel. “All officers have been instructed to organize flag march in their respective areas and talk to people and motivate them to follow guidelines for Ramnavami. They have also been directed to report any untoward incident. Instructions have been given to all the Akhara committees to conclude the procession by 8 pm tomorrow. We will not leave any room for mistakes during Ram Navami,” he said. The SSP said a total of 32 areas have been identified as sensitive. Additional forces have been deployed in such areas. “More than 70 check posts have been made. Apart from CCTV, a total of 22 drones are being used for surveillance. A DSP has also been deployed in the control room. If crowd is seen in any area, it will be seen in CCTV and instructions will be given to remove the crowd immediately,” he said.
