Jamshedpur, Feb 16: Kadma police have solved the firing case on a jewellery shop owner on Saturday.
The police has arrested both the son-in-law of the jewelllery shop owner and a criminal from near Tatanagar Station and recovered the pistol and cartridges used in the firing and the mobile number.
SSP East Singhbhum M Tamilvanan informed media on Tuesday that the firing incident was linked to family problem of jewellery shop owner Ganesh Chandra.
Ganesh Chandra daughter had married Rajkumar Patro in 2019 and after marriage the daughter came to realise that the youth had criminal antecedents and she left her husband and started staying in her father house. She also sent a legal notice and thereafter a divorce notice to her husband.
Infuriated Rajkumar Patro thought that everything was being done at the advise of his father-in-law and few days before he gave a threatening to Ganesh Chandra and asked him to send his daughter to the in-laws house or face consequences. But Ganesh Chandra did not agree. As a result of which Rajkumar Patro along with his friend Raghunath Manna made a plan to eliminate his father-in-law and on February 13 night they kept a watch on the jewellery shop owner and as he started leaving after closing the shop Raghunath Manna fired at him from close range and fled from the spot.
After the incident, daughter of the jewellery shop owner, Ayushi lodged a complaint against her husband and his accomplice at Kadma thana.
