Jamshedpur police implements ‘Daily Meeting System’ to enhance efficiency

Jamshedpur: In a strategic move aimed at improving crime control, investigation processes, and the overall maintenance of law and order within the urban police station area, the Superintendent of Police, City, Mukesh Lunayat has instituted a comprehensive Daily Meeting system. This initiative seeks to establish clear roles and accountabilities for all police officers and personnel operating at the police station level. Under this systematic approach, the police station in-charge conducts daily meetings to meticulously deliberate officer-wise responsibilities, focusing on critical aspects such as the execution of pending warrants, attachments, and summons.

One of the primary objectives of these meetings is to expedite the arrest of fugitives and ensure the physical verification of chargesheeted criminals. Moreover, discussions centre on the completion of character and passport verifications that are pending within the police station. The implementation of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) entry is also emphasized to streamline information management and sharing.

Crucially, the Daily Meeting system addresses the research and execution of pending cases, providing a structured platform for officers to collaboratively devise strategies for case resolution. By dividing and assigning specific duties within the system, the initiative aims to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness in crime control and investigation processes.

An inherent aspect of this approach is the fixation of accountability, ensuring that each officer is responsible for the successful execution of their assigned tasks. This not only fosters a sense of responsibility but also promotes a collaborative environment where officers work cohesively towards the common goal of maintaining law and order.

“The Daily Meeting system is designed to bring about a positive shift in our approach towards crime prevention and resolution. It establishes a framework for officers to collaboratively address key challenges, ensuring accountability and efficiency in our daily operations,” said a police official.

The daily meetings, spearheaded by the police station in-charge, serve as a platform for detailed discussions on officer-wise execution of pending warrants, attachment, and summons. The initiative aims to expedite the arrest of fugitives, as emphasized by the Superintendent:

“By focusing on the daily activities and responsibilities of our officers, we aim to significantly reduce the time taken in executing pending warrants and apprehending fugitives. This proactive approach is essential for effective crime control,” he said.

Meanwhile, City SP said: “We are placing a strong emphasis on the thorough verification of chargesheeted criminals and expediting character and passport verifications. Integrating our processes with CCTNS ensures seamless information flow, aiding in investigations and maintaining up-to-date records.”

The innovative Daily Meeting system not only streamlines the research and execution of pending cases but also assigns specific duties to officers, fixing accountability for their execution. According to a senior police official:”This system represents a paradigm shift in how we approach our daily responsibilities. By dividing tasks and holding officers accountable, we aim to enhance overall efficiency and deliver prompt and quality services to the community we serve.”
