Jamshedpur, April 15: The district administration has imposed restrictions in different areas in view of rising COVID-19 positive cases in the city. A team from district police, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee ( JNAC) led a drive to sensitise people to wear face masks and ensure personal distancing while venturing out to carry out their essential works in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The team hit the streets at Sakchi and Bistupur markets to carry out surprise inspections to check whether people were wearing masks and also handed over masks to those who were not, even while explaining the importance of personal safety to them.

The team went to Sakchi market various shops along that stretch checking whether personal distancing was being maintained and people wore face masks.
Ravi Bharti, city manager, JNAC informed that inspected some outlets selling fruits and fruit juices and asked the shopkeepers to ensure protective measures at their respective outlets.

Those who fail to wear mask while venturing out are liable to be pay penalty, said the senior official. Shops and business establishments which fail to adhere to the government guidelines issued in respect of COVID-19 would be sealed, he said.
Traffic police have been advised auto drivers to allow only those passengers who wore mask and ensure personal distancing inside the vehicles.

Moreover, since the management of the pandemic has lately become challenging for the administration, it has ordered shutdown in different areas.
Given the sudden rise in corona cases, the civic bodies have intensified active surveillance in different areas. The three urban civic body areas – Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee ( JNAC), Mango Notified Area Committee ( MNAC ) and Jugsalai Municipality are carrying inspection in different areas to ensure social distancing.
