Jamshedpur police girdle up for Durga Puja duty

Drones, patrolling squads, static magistrates to keep vigil at puja pandals 

Jamshedpur, Oct 1:  Civil and police officials were briefed about maintenance of law and order during Durga puja festivity at a meeting held in Rabindra Bhawan Auditorium in Sakchi on Saturday.

 During the briefing, all the deputed officers were instructed to remain ready till the immersion for the next 5 days. The magistrates and police officers were asked to discharge their duties by establishing mutual coordination with each other. Instructions were given to keep special vigil in the communally sensitive areas.

East Singhbhum SSP Prabhat Kumar said that the administration is fully prepared for the successful organization of Durga Puja, additional police forces have been deployed at sensitive places and the administration is fully prepared and alert to deal with any emergency situation. While directing all the magistrates and police officers, he said that any dispute will be avoided at the place of deputation, if any minor problem related to law and order comes to the fore, they should inform the senior officers of the district immediately. Control room numbers should be with everyone. He expressed confidence that Durga Puja would be conducted in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in the district.

ADM Law and Order Nandkishore Lal said that those who have been deputed in the puja pandals will meet the members of the puja committee once in the morning and apprise them about the feelings of the administration so that they can get mutual cooperation. He said that as the night progresses in Jamshedpur urban area, there is an increase in the crowd of devotees in the pandals, so it is necessary to work on the basis of the assessment of the crowd. There will be a need to regulate the crowd in sensitive-vulnerable pandals so that there is no panic among the people. At the time of immersion, the Static Magistrate will also accompany the procession until the procession reaches its destination.

Instructions were given by SDM Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena that if any problem related to water, electricity, fire safety comes to the fore in the pandals, the control room or the sub-divisional officer will immediately  be informed.

Rural SP  Mukesh Lunayat said that for peaceful event it is necessary that regular physical verification of sensitive-hypersensitive pandals be done. The area or pandals for which drones have been provided will also be monitored through this. Special attention will be given to barricading.

To maintain law and order by the administration, 18 super zonal magistrates, 32 zonal magistrates, 261 static magistrates have been deputed while 36 patrolling squads will remain active. Apart from the district level control room at Sakchi CCR, control rooms have also been set up at Ghatshila sub-divisional headquarters, JNAC, Mango Municipal Corporation and Jugsalai Municipal Council.
