Jamshedpur, Oct 3: Strict measures have been taken by the authority in Jamshedpur to ensure law and order during Durga Puja. A total of 46 checkpoints are being set up across the city to address any complaints promptly .
Female officers will be deployed at crowded places to handle incidents of harassment. Police officials in all station areas have been given specific instructions for the festival with a focus to restrain drug abuse and inappropriate behavior at puja pandals.

“Anyone attempting to disrupt the festive atmosphere will not be spared,” said a police official. Volunteers at puja pandals have been instructed to inform the police control room immediately if they spot any drug-related activities or inappropriate behavior.
Police will also conduct random inspections of hotels following reports from last year that some establishments were facilitating unethical activities during Durga Puja. Youths and couples were reportedly renting rooms for a few hours.
Both male and female officers in plainclothes will be stationed in crowded areas like markets to ensure security. The police are identifying key spots where large gatherings are expected. These undercover officers will help maintain order and address any incidents discreetly.
