Jamshedpur Police crackdown on Chhayanagar assault and firing case

Jamshedpur: In a significant breakthrough, the police have successfully cracked the recent chopper attack and firing incident reported from Chhayanagar under the Sitaramdera police station area. Four accused individuals have been arrested and subsequently sent to judicial custody.
The arrested persons have been identified as Karan Verma (21), Nirbhay Singh alias Chhotka (19), Santosh Verma alias Munna, and Kunal Munda alias Chhila (23), all residents of Chhayanagar.
Police recovered one country-made pistol, three choppers, and two mobile phones used in the crime from their possession.
Addressing a press conference, the City SP revealed that the incident occurred on the night of March 31, when the accused attacked Nand Lohar alias Nandu Karmakar with sharp weapons and opened fire to spread terror in the locality.
Following the incident, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted under the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police. The team, led by the City SP and DSP Bhola Prasad, acted swiftly and apprehended the accused from the Sitaramdera bus stand while they were allegedly preparing to flee to Patna.
Police sources further disclosed that Kunal Munda alias Chhila has a prior criminal record. All four accused have now been remanded to judicial custody as further investigation continues.
