Jamshedpur: City police on Tuesday claimed to have busted the burglars� gang involved in a series of thefts in jewelry shops across the city.
Cops have recovered 200 gram gold and 3 kg silver ornaments. They have also confiscated an SUV used in the crime.
The gang was also involved in the incident of theft in a Govindpur-based jewelry shop on January 21 last. Its members had decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth over Rs 15 lakh and cash worth Rs 35,000.
City SP, Prabhat Kumar, addressing a press conference, said after scanning CCTV footage from the Govindpur shop, the police team nabbed three persons involved in the crime identified as Kallu Sardar (26), Sanjay Machua (19), Rajendra Paswan (30), a resident of Gamharia (Seraikela-Kharsawan).
During interrogation, the accused persons confessed having committed thefts in shops in Bistupur, Parsudih and Jugslai with the help of their other accomplices, identified as Fakir Chandra Prasad (57), Rakesh Kumar Verma (both Gamharia) and Santosh Vilas Gaikwad (Hazaribagh).
