Jamshedpur Police arrest notorious criminal, pistol recovered  

Jamshedpur: In a significant breakthrough, the Sonari police have nabbed a notorious criminal, Sonu Singh alias Sial, who was reportedly planning a major criminal activity in the city. Sonu Singh, a resident of Khuntadih Ram Temple in Sonari, was intercepted by a swift police operation after receiving intelligence of his presence in the area, allegedly armed with a pistol and plotting a serious offense.

The prompt response from the Sonari police, led by station in-charge Saryu Anand, resulted in the successful arrest of Sonu Singh. Upon his apprehension, law enforcement recovered an illegal country-made pistol, four cartridges, and a smartphone from his possession.

Speaking at a press conference held at the SSP office, City SP Mukesh Kumar Lunayat disclosed that Sonu Singh, alias Sial, had recently been released from jail in January and was believed to be plotting criminal activities upon his release. This latest arrest has thwarted his nefarious intentions and ensured public safety.

The notorious ‘Sial’ gang, of which Sonu Singh is purportedly a key member, has been notorious for its criminal activities in the Sonari area. In a previous incident in 2023, a member of the Sial gang, Sumit Gorai, was involved in an attempted murder when he fired at Sumit Yadav. Fortunately, Yadav narrowly escaped the attack. Subsequently, Sonu Singh alias Sial was arrested in connection with the shooting, with law enforcement recovering a firearm from him at the time.

Furthermore, Sonu Singh’s affiliation with the ‘Hete’ gang has been brought to light, indicating the ongoing feud between rival factions in the region. The escalation of gang-related violence, exemplified by the exchange of gunfire between the Sial and Ravidas gangs in 2021, underscores the persistent threat posed by organized criminal elements in the area.

The apprehension of Sonu Singh alias Sial represents a significant victory for law enforcement in their ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and maintain public safety in Sonari.
