Jamshedpur Police arrest juveniles involved in theft

Jamshedpur: The police today arrested two boys for stealing cash and 30 cellphones beside other accessories from a mobile phone shop at Krishna Nagar under Govindpur thana area on Monday night.

Those arrested were 16-year-old and 17-year-old boys and are residents of Barigora in Govindpur. The police have recovered all the stolen cellphones, power banks, from the possession of the two minor offenders at their houses in Barigora.

Superintendent of police (City) Prabhat Kumar said that the theft was detected on the basis of CCTV footage obtained from the surveillance cameras installed at adjoining shop.

“We were investigating the incident. We had set up a special team after getting the complaint of theft. During investigation, we collected footage of the CCTV cameras installed at an adjoining shop of the Poonam Fancy Stores and ultimately reached upto the offenders involved in the crime,” said Kumar.
