Seraikela, Aug 20: In a tragic incident, 38-year-old Hiralal Mahto, who was admitted at Sadar Hospital Seraikela for treatment for some ailments, committed suicide by jumping off the three-storey corridor of the hospital late on Thursday night.
As the news spread on Friday, the Seraikela police rushed to the Sadar Hospital and started investigating the incident. Seraikela police station in-charge Manohar Kumar, who reached Sadar Hospital , said that prima facie the case appears to be of suicide. The incident is being investigated keeping in mind all the aspects of the incident.

Dr Umesh Rajak, who was on duty during the incident at Sadar Hospital, informed that Hiralal had recovered after treatment. He was scheduled to be discharged on Friday morning. It is being said that the deceased Hiralal got healthy and had a good conversation with his family members who came to the hospital on Thursday while having lunch and dinner normally. According to the staff of Sadar Hospital and the patients admitted in the ward, the deceased Hiralal had a mild argument with his wife before going to the bathroom. He then jumped from the hospital.


According to Anju Mahato, wife of deceased Hiralal, resident of Mundakati village of Bana Panchayat under Rajnagar police station, on Tuesday, the deceased, who kept a fast of Maa Mansa Puja, ate prasad and food after worship. After which he complained of feeling very weak. On Wednesday, Hiralal was admitted to Sadar Hospital at around 1.30 pm after his health suddenly deteriorated. But he commited suicide.
