By working in tandem with the Kolhan Range Police, she emphasized the aim to provide a smoother and faster experience to passport seekers.

The Kolhan Police acknowledged the importance of timely verification and assured their commitment to expediting the process without compromising on security. They mentioned that through this collaboration, they aim to streamline the information exchange and communication channels between the RPO and the police department, ultimately benefiting passport applicants.
Several key areas are being addressed during the workshop, including the development of standardized procedures, enhanced information sharing mechanisms, and leveraging technology to speed up the verification process. The participants are also discussing strategies to address any potential challenges or bottlenecks that may arise during the process.

Meanwhile addressing the media, the Regional Passport Officer said that Jamshedpur Passport Office receives 100 applications per day on an average. In terms of application, Jamshedpur is the second largest center after Ranchi.
She said that Jharkhand has the capacity to accept 1500 passport applications per day. Efforts are being made to increase it further. Manita said that people should get a passport in a week after applying. For the purpose of ensuring its real time police verification, all the police stations of the state are being connected with the passport office system. So that the police officers can submit the verification report in digital mode in real time. At present, after applying on an average, people are getting passports in one month.
