Jamshedpur passengers welcome Railways’ decision to reduce advance reservation period to 60 days

Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Passengers in Jamshedpur have expressed satisfaction with the Indian Railways’ decision to shorten the advance reservation period from 120 days to 60 days. The new policy, effective immediately, allows travelers to book their tickets closer to their date of journey, providing more flexibility.

Frequent rail users in the Steel City are particularly pleased with the change, as it reduces the need to plan trips months in advance. This is expected to benefit those with unpredictable schedules, such as business travelers and daily commuters, making rail travel more convenient for them.

“This is a very welcome decision. Earlier, booking tickets four months in advance was a hassle, especially when plans would change,” said Rakesh Sinha, a frequent traveller. Other passengers echoed similar sentiments, saying that the reduced booking period will offer more freedom to plan trips at shorter notice, without worrying about ticket availability far ahead of time.

Railway officials believe that the reduction in the advance booking period will lead to fewer cancellations and better availability of tickets for genuine travellers.

Indian Railways made the change in response to feedback from passengers across the country, and Jamshedpur passengers are among those benefiting from the increased flexibility in booking travel.
