Jamshedpur: Passenger allegedly assaulted by auto drivers

Jamshedpur, August 17: Patamda resident, Manorath Mahto has filed a complaint in the Sakchi police station alleging that auto drivers at the Sakchi tempo stand for Sonari route had assaulted him and snatched Rs 10 thousand from him.

According to the written complaint, Manorath Mahto, a Patamda resident, was sitting in an auto rickshaw for going to Sonari. When he asked about the fare, one driver said it was Rs 20 while another stated the the fare to Sonari was Rs 15. At this, an argument ensued on the actual fare. Some of the auto drivers attacked and injured him and allegedly snatched a cash amount of Rs 10 thousand from his possession. Manorath went to the Sakchi PS in his injured state from where the police immediately took him to MGMC Hospital for medical attention. He returned to the PS after treatment and filed his complaint. The incident occurred on Thursday at 9 am.
