JAMSHEDPUR, Feb 9: In a pioneering initiative aimed at promoting football and community engagement, the Jamshedpur Super League Father’s and Mother’s Divisions were conducted with enthusiastic participation at the JRD Tata Sports Complex Archery Ground. The league featured fathers and mothers of grassroots footballers from prominent institutions, including Loyola School, Carmel School, and Tinplate Open Grassroots Football Center, competing in a structured format every Sunday.

With six teams in each division, comprising eight players per team, the league spanned ten weeks, with a total of 30 matches played. Each 25-minute game provided parents a unique opportunity to experience the game from their children’s perspective, fostering a deeper appreciation for football while strengthening family bonds. The initiative emphasized sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition, reinforcing football as a way of life.

Alongside the parents’ league, Matchweek 13 of the Jamshedpur Super League also concluded with intense competition across various age-group categories. Young footballers displayed their skills and determination in their respective divisions.

The Jamshedpur Super League Father’s and Mother’s Divisions, along with the youth matches, highlighted the city’s commitment to promoting football at all levels. By stepping onto the field, parents not only competed for their teams but also set an inspiring example for the next generation of football enthusiasts, further contributing to the growth of Indian football.
