Jamshedpur, June 14: Ramadan is a special time for Pappu Sardar, who is known as ardent Madhuri Dixit fan, as it is a good month to socialise with his Muslim friends and at the same making special arrangements for the devotees to help them break their fast with iftar.
From past 18 years Pappu has been making special arrangements for Muslim devotees every evening at his chaat shop at Sakchi.
Pappu along with his staff also get in to the spirit and invite the Muslims for iftar, offering a variety of cuisines. About 150 devotees every day come to his shop to break their fast. Everything is provided free of cost. From making sitting arrangements to offering them cuisines, everything is down with devotion.
During Ramzan, special arrangements are made for devotes of the locality. And most of the time people who are away from home or due to some work got stuck break their fast in his shop. Many people strongly feel that helping rozedars break fasting is like getting religious obligation but being a Sikh he makes arrangements is really very inspiring.
Pappu said days of fasting taught him the value of food and how the poor, hungry people in the world must feel.
Pappu has also been celebrating Dixit’s birthday since 1996. His dedication to the star has no limits. Earlier his neighbours used to consider him crazy, but now they eagerly wait for the annual event, and wholeheartedly join in the revelries.
Like thousands of others, PappuSardaridolises Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit. But he is a unique member of her fan club in that he has taken it upon himself to reach out to those in need while dedicating the service to her.
