Eid: Strong force to be deployed, entry of heavy vehicles to be prohibited in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, June 14 : East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amit Kumar has ordered deployment of strong force of district police accompanied by Rapid Action Force (RAF) jawans at strategic locations in communally sensitive pockets of city especially in Mango, Sakchi, Jugsalai, Shastrinagar (in Kadma), Dhatkidih (in Bistupur), Masjid Road (in Golmuri) and Bhalubhasa (in Sitaramdera).

Entry of heavy vehicles to city would be prohibited from 6 am till 11 pm on Eid.

Pickets would be posted and round the clock patrolling done to maintain law and order, he said, adding peace committee meetings have been held with various communities, who have assured cooperation for peaceful observance of the festival.


Shopkeepers and neighbours in areas where these people reside have been requested to help them in case of any eventuality. Besides police vehicles, private vehicles have been hired for patrol and plainclothes police would do the rounds in all areas �to send a warning to mischief mongers that they would be caught and apprehended if they tried to create trouble.�

�As per the orders the forces deployment would be from evening of June 14 till June 17 (morning) along with deployment of 130 magistrates who would be doing vigil in communally sensitive. We have also held several rounds of meeting with peace committee meetings at all the police stations and their members would also be helping the administration,� said an official.

Moreover, Jamshedpur city SP Prabhat Kumar would be keeping vigil at the police control room situated inside Sakchi police station premises.

SSP AnupBirtharayinstructed to ensure the security of mosques, Imam Bargahs, Eidgahs, shopping centres, markets, public places, and other important installations as per the Eid contingency plan.

He also instructed to make effective police picketing and snap checking on the exits and entrances of sensitive parts of the city and takes important steps for police mobile, motorcycle on on-foot patrolling to keep close vigil on suspected elements.
