Jamshedpur: Overladen garbage piles make life miserable for Vijaynagar residents

Jamshedpur, Sept 12: Overladen, unkempt and unattended-to garbage piles in Vijaynagar at Golmuri have made life miserable for the residents on this locality. The locals stated that no attempt had been made in months to clear the garbage. They said that drains were clogged resulting in overflow of waste and putrid water that spill over on to the roads and more often than not, enter homes and even temples. The filth and foul odour have been plaguing the Vijaynagar residents who are resigned to suffer the unhealthy and unattended conditions. The residents are a frustrated lot but there is precious little they can do.

On Tuesday, BJP leaders visited the Vijaynagar locality to assess the unhygienic conditions in the locality. To add to the woes, many street lights were not working and in spite of reporting the matter to the authorities concerned, no move has been made to alleviate the misery og the Vijaynagar denizens. The BJP leaders inspected Vijaynagar and expressed dissatisfaction over the unhealthy living conditions created by the authorities concerned. The local residents expressed their frustration over the accumulating garbage files not being removed that posed a health hazards. over the poor state of cleanliness in the area.
