Jamshedpur, March 5: A squad of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee launched anti-plastic campaign in Sakchi market on Saturday. The officials confiscated more than one quintal of banned plastic bags from a shop at Sanjay Market and also seized 10 kg of plastic from two shops at Straight Mile Road. A fine of Rs 22,000 was collected from the shop owners.
The JNAC has been running campaign against plastic all over the city for the last several years. Despite this, plastic continues to be used at various places across the city. The JNAC officials said they were taking action against the culprits to make the city greener and cleaner.
