Jamshedpur: In a proactive step toward responsive governance, Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal conducted a Janta Darbar at the Collectorate office on Thursday, where he directly interacted with citizens and addressed their grievances.
More than 90 individuals from various blocks and panchayats of the district participated in the public hearing, raising personal, social, and administrative concerns. The Deputy Commissioner patiently listened to each complaint and instructed departmental officials present to resolve many of the issues immediately.
Issues highlighted by the public included arbitrary practices by parking contractors in urban areas, requests for school fee waivers, shop allotment concerns, land disputes, drinking water shortages in Mango, delays in income certificate issuance, mutation corrections, child admissions under reserved quota, ration card errors, pension approvals, and sand distribution irregularities.
Several of these matters were resolved on the spot, thanks to the swift coordination between the DC and department representatives. For the remaining applications, Mittal issued clear directions for prompt investigation and resolution, stressing adherence to time-bound processes.
“Janta Darbar is an effective platform that bridges the gap between the administration and the public. It enables transparent and swift grievance redressal,” said the Deputy Commissioner. He emphasized that all departments must treat pending cases with urgency and ensure their disposal within the stipulated time frame.
The public appreciated the administration’s efforts to bring governance closer to the people and welcomed the initiative as a step toward better accountability and service delivery.
