Jamshedpur: As a part of CSR activities, Urban Services, Tata Steel, in collaboration with Jharkhand Boxing Association, is organizing Jamshedpur Open Boxing Tournament at Sir Dorabji Tata Park in front of Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur on March 15-17, 2019 for Sub-Junior, Junior and Youth category. About 120 boxers of Jamshedpur are proposed to participate in this 3 days tournament. On 1st day, the 15th March, the match will start from 4.00 PM onwards. The closing ceremony of this tournament would be held at 6.00 PM on 17th March 2019.
The tournament will serve as a platform for trained boxers from all the community centres of Urban Services and clubs of Jamshedpur, to test their caliber as to where they stand among others. It will also showcase bouts among untrained boxers identified from various community centres on the basis of their interest and inclination to learn professional boxing.
The participating clubs include -Tata Boxing Centre, Birsa Boxing Centre, Mango Boxing Club, Sitaramdera Boxing Club, Namda Boxing Centre and Kasidih Boxing centre.
