Jamshedpur, March 2: A youth died while two others got seriously injured in a road accident on the Chowka-Kandra stretch of National Highway 33 on Wednesday.
Sources said the deceased was identified as Malkhan Murmu, a resident of Tamari village. The injured youths, Raja Mahato and Rathu Lohra, both local residents, were taken to MGM Hospital where the former’s condition was reportedly critical.
Sources said the accident occurred around 8.30 am near Narsingh Steel Company when a trailer truck rammed into the victims’ motorcycle at high speed.
After the incident, the carcade of state health minister Banna Gupta happened to pass through the same route. The minister stopped his vehicle and arranged for an ambulance to send the victims to the nearest hospital. He directed the local police officials to register a case in this connection and take necessary action.
