Jamshedpur, May 10: Police arrested one Nisar Hasan alias Nishu in connection with the incident of bomb attack on the state president of Rajput Karni Sena, Ganesh Singh, here late Monday night. They also seized a gun from his possession in a raid conducted at Bistupur. This was informed today by Dr M Tamil Vanan, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jamshedpur, at a press briefing at his office.
The SSP said four more persons were involved in the bombing. Nisar was earlier jailed for keeping illegal arms and seeking extortion money, he said.
Ganesh Singh was assaulted near a petrol pump under Sonari police station area in December 2021. He was taken to Tata Main Hospital in an injured condition.

According to the SSP, Nisar has confessed that he had hurled the bomb on Ganesh’s car and had also shot a bullet at him. An FIR was lodged against Nishar with the Bistupur PS on 17th March. He went absconding thereafter, said Vanan.
During interrogation, Nisar told police he had gone to Mumbai during the Corona pandemic. On returning to Jamshedpur, he planned to commit some crime as he was penniless. But police somehow got whiff of his plan and caught him with a live bullet and one mobile phone, said the SSP.
Vanan said Nisar had received Rs 5000 for attacking Ganesh.
