Jamshedpur: A comprehensive training program for Sector Officers and Sector Police Officers was held today at Michael John Auditorium, Bistupur, in preparation for the upcoming assembly elections. The session, conducted in two shifts, was led by District Election Officer Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal.
In the first shift, officers from constituencies 44-Baharagora, 45-Ghatshila, and 46-Potka attended, while the second shift covered 47-Jugsalai, 48-Jamshedpur East, and 49-Jamshedpur West. The training emphasized the importance of ensuring a free, transparent, and fair election process.
Sector Officers were briefed on their crucial roles, including knowledge of polling station access roads, physical verification, election management, and familiarity with EVMs and VVPATs. They were also instructed on vulnerability mapping, identifying and addressing voter intimidation, and ensuring minimum facilities at polling centers.
The Senior Superintendent of Police detailed the physical verification of access roads, vulnerability mapping, and the importance of maintaining a secure environment for voters. He urged Sector Police Officers to prevent any actions that could hinder voters’ rights.
