Jamshedpur Nursery student raped in moving school van

Jamshedpur, August 10: In a gruesome and heart rendering crime against children, a nursery student was allegedly raped by a school-van driver in Jamshedpur’s Mango. The incident came to surface after the 3.5-year-old girl detailed her ordeal to mother on Saturday evening.

Narrating the minor’s ordeal, a relative of the victim talking to scribes said, “The girl after returning from school complained of pain in private parts and lower abdomen to her mother.”

The relative further added that the nursery student further told her mother that the school van driver undressed her and touched her badly.

“We called the van driver home and confronted him. He at that moment requested for forgiveness. The driver also told us that from last two days his relative who was visiting them was dropping our child in a different van which had black tinted windows,” added the victim’s relative.

The East Singhbhum City Superintendent of Police (SP) Rishab Garg talking to The Avenue Mail said, “A complaint has been registered in Mango police station. A senior female police officer has been appointed to investigate the case.”

The SP further added that one person is being questioned in connection to the incident. “Once we are assured that the one we are questioning is the culprit further legal actions will be taken.”

The senior cop denied to reveal anything further about the incident and about the person being questioned.

A senior police officer stationed at Mango Police station said, “The girl has been sent for medical attention to MGM. We can give details after we receive medical reports.”
