Jamshedpur, May 28: The tender process for leasing the hall and shops at the JP Setu bus stand in Bhuiyandih has once again failed to attract bidders, turning into a persistent administrative challenge for the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC). The civic body has now floated the tender for the 17th time after cancelling the previous 16 rounds due to lack of interest from contractors in East Singhbhum district.
JNAC issued the fresh tender on May 27 for the commercial spaces located at the JP Setu bus terminus and other associated properties.
Despite repeated attempts over the years, the project has continued to receive a poor response from prospective bidders.
According to officials, the minimum reserve amount for leasing the first-floor shops for three years has been fixed at Rs 2.40 lakh, while the hall at the bus stand carries a minimum bid value of Rs 19.27 lakh for the same period.
Similarly, the reserve amount for the ground-floor shop has been set at Rs 5.50 lakh.
The three shops located at the Kadma Skill Development Centre have a combined minimum bid value of Rs 1.30 lakh for a three-year term.
Officials admitted that the repeated failure to find interested contractors has become a major concern for the administration, with the commercial infrastructure remaining underutilised for years.
