Jamshedpur, June 12: Nishan Singh was elected Pradhan of Sakchi Gurudwara on Sunday. He defeated his closest rival Harvinder Singh Mantu by 40 votes.

A total of 1294 votes were cast today. Four votes were declared bogus. The voting began at 8.15 am and was largely peaceful.

Nishan Singh got a total of 654 votes while Mantu got 614 votes. Nishan contested on the symbol of rising sun while Mantu got the symbol of lion.

Soon after declaration of winner’s name, the supporters of Nishan Singh celebrated his victory by performing bhangra and beating drums amidst firework.
