Jamshedpur, Oct 26: A 30 year-old man, identified as Mohammad Zahid, was stoned to death in an abandoned house at Jawaharnagar Road No 13B, Mango, on Wednesday. Police suspect a land dispute led to the killing.

Cops recovered the body of the deceased from the abandoned house in the morning. They suspect the victim was assaulted repeatedly with some blunt object, sources said.

Sources said Zahid had gone out of his house around 10 pm yesterday after reportedly receiving a phone call. After returning home for a brief span, he again went out. Arshad and Bittu of Road No 13B had come to call him. Zahid used to stay with his elder brother Shahzad Khan at Road No 14. His brother has accused Arshad and Bittu of killing his brother following a conspiracy, police said.

SP City K Vijay Shankar reached the crime scene and led police investigation into the murder. He said the killers would soon be sent behind the bars. He said the motive of murder was not clear as yet.
