Jamshedpur murder: CID probe begins a year after BJP leader murder

Jamshedpur, June 15: The CID investigation has now started after a year in the murder of BJP leader Vikram Singh at Hotel AB Palace in Jugsalai on night of May 2 last year.

 In this sequence, the clothes of the deceased and the blood stains on the wall of the hotel have been sampled. The accused in the case, former railway employee and railway contractor Tuntun Singh alias Om Narayan Singh, is lodged in Ghagidih Jail with his family for 11 months.

Tuntun Singh’s wife Anita Devi had demanded a CID probe from the Jharkhand Police Headquarters since the shooting incident. Only after this initiative has been taken in this direction. At present, the investigation team is in the city and meeting the people of both sides. A dispute had already arisen between Tuntun Singh and Vikram Singh over finance. 

It is being told that Tuntun Singh had a dispute with Vikram’s elder brother Amar Pratap Singh, but on May 2, on the day of the incident, Vikram also went with his brother. In the meantime, when a dispute arose, Tuntun Singh shot Vikram on the chest with his licensed pistol and killed him. After this, after firing the second bullet, he fled with his son. After the incident, the police arrested Tuntun Singh on 7 May and sent him to jail.
After the incident, the police had recovered pistol, empty cartridges and pellets but the three could not be matched among themselves. This has been revealed after a forensic report. In the Jugsalai police case, besides Tuntun Singh, his  relative Rajkumar Singh alias Raju has submitted a charge sheet in the court.

The accused of the incident, Tuntun Singh, is a resident of Radha Colony, Khasmahal under Parsudih police station area. He was an employee of the railway loco shed located near Tatanagar station.
