Jamshedpur, May 17: Members of Mukhi Samaj met the officials of Tata Steel Tubes Division at Burmamines on Tuesday to discuss road safety issues.
Leading the delegation, Mahesh Mukhi said fatal road accidents were reported near the Tube Company gate every now and then. Recently, an unidentified vehicle had knocked down a bike. A woman was killed in the incident, he said.
Mukhi demanded installation of CCTV cameras around Tubes Division gate to ensure identification of vehicles involved in road accidents. He also demanded construction of speed breakers and illumination to prevent overspeeding near the company gate. He said Mukhi Samaj members would sit on dharna before the company gate in case the demands are not fulfilled soon.
