Jamshedpur MP raises rural roads issues in Parliament

Jamshedpur, Feb 4. Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Varan Mahto raised the issue of road in rural areas of East Singhbhum in the Lok Sabha under Rule 377.

The MP said that East Singhbhum district under Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency is included in 115 aspirational districts along with most backward and Left Wing Extremism affected.

It is known that East Singhbhum district is insurgency affected and there is still lack of roads in the inaccessible areas due to being affected by Naxal activities. It is noted that in order to facilitate traffic in these areas and to maintain the presence of police force in those areas, construction of roads and bridges under the Road Connectivity Scheme for Left Wing Extremism Affected Areas (RCPLWE) under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. The list of selected roads by the Executive Engineer Rural Works Affairs was sent to the Rural Development Department, Government of Jharkhand through Deputy Commissioner East Singhbhum District. The above list has been sent by the Rural Development Department, Government of Jharkhand to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for approval.

He urged through the Speaker that the Ministry of Home Affairs is requesting the Government of India to approve the list sent for the construction of roads and bridges under the Left Wing Extremism Road Connectivity Scheme (RCPLWE) for the areas affected by Left Wing Extremism under Jamshedpur Parliamentary Constituency.
