Jamshedpur, Feb 4. The irregularities committed in the construction of Atmosphere Lounge and Kitchen in Sonari are once again in the news.
In the latest case, on the complaint of Ravi Shankar Pandey, a member of Legal Piper, an organization working in the field of environmental protection, and advocate of Jamshedpur Court, Manohar Marandi, deputy director, urban development and housing department has asked Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) special officer Krishna Kumar, to take necessary action after examining four points.
It is worth mentioning that Ravi Shankar Pandey and Legal Piper have been playing the role of whistle blowers in the matters related to environment and corruption for a long time. This matter first came to light when Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai had objected to this construction. On this whole matter, advocate Ravi Shankar said that this case is not just about the encroachment of a toilet but shows the unlimited corruption prevailing in the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee and the government’s apathy towards the environment.
The advocate told that in this case he has written a letter again to the government in the light of the email received from the Chief Secretary’s office, in which he described the order of the above inquiry as meaningless as JNAC which had carried out the irregularities has been asked to examine the points.
Pandey said that all the allegations of irregularities in this construction are on the Special Officer of the notified area and the government is making a mockery of the administrative system by giving the responsibility of its investigation to him.
