Jamshedpur, Sept 23: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto met Union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat during his stay in Delhi.
The MP met the minister and enquired about his mother who is unwell and admitted in AIIMS, during discussion the Union minister told the MP that he has written a letter to the additional secretary of Jharkhand regarding the scheme of water supply in Patmada.
The minister said that he would come to Ranchi in the end of October or in the first week of November and review various schemes.
Significantly, Jamshedpur MP had sent a proposal to the Union Minister to make arrangements for proper irrigation in Patamda area, in which it is proposed to irrigate the entire Patamada area through pipeline from Nimdih.
In the course of the conversation, MP Mr. Mahto apprised him that Jharkhand does not get any benefit of the water that goes from Galudih barrage of Swarnrekha project and all that water goes to Odisha. The agreement has been reached, under which irrigation of Jharkhand’s land was ensured from Galudih barrage in about 11000 hectares, but till now it is not being followed. Appropriate steps need to be taken in this regard so that
Gudabandha area including Ghatshila, Musabani, Dumaria can also get the benefit of irrigation from Galudih barrage. The Union Minister assured him reviewing it during his visit to Jharkkhand.
