Jamshedpur MP inaugurates Sidirsai Passenger halt

Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato inaugurated the  newly-constructed passenger halt and ticket counter in Sidirsai under Tata-Badampahar rail section of South Eastern Railway�s Chakradharpur Division on Friday. The special guest of the occasion was the MLA of Potka, Menka Sardar.

Mahato said two passenger trains running between Tatanagar and Badampahar would halt in Sidirsai every day. He said the local residents had long been demanding halting of passenger trains in Sidirsai. Now local residents would be able to travel from Tatanagar to Badampahar and carry on their daily business, he said.

Mahato said he had always raised the demands of people of his constituency in Ranchi and New Delhi. He said he was now trying to get a double railway line on Tata-Badampahar route which should also be extended up to Keonjhar so that passengers may conveniently travel up to Bhuvneshwar. He said he had spoken to the Union Railway Minister in this regard. He said Tata-Badampahar rail route would also undergo electrification, for which the Railway has given its approval. He said the Sidirsai halt would be developed further.

The MP appealed to people to keep the halt clean and plant saplings around it.

The Potka MLA said the BJP-led government was carrying out a host of development activities in the state.

Other dignitaries present during the event included ADRM BK Sinha, Senior DCM Manish Pathak, Senior DEN SK Sourabh, DEN Santosh Kumar, AK Singh and AK Rai.
