Jamshedpur, May 20: In its pursuit to ensure all- round development of students, Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) organised summer camp for students of classes 3 to 5.
The camp focused on 2 themes – personal development and getting students to understand climate change.
Students learnt through fun based activities and integrated learning techniques. The main focus of this camp was to sensitise students towards the climate change, an issue of global concern.
Members of the mothers’ club of Motilal Nehru Public School actively participated in the camp by conducting special sessions for students. It included workshops on making organic home decor pieces and cooking without fire for students.
The school Principal Ashu Tiwary and Vice Principal Dr. Ritu Choudhary appreciated the innovative ideas of Jr. Co-ordinator Purnima Tripathy and faculty members Maushami Giri, Rupa James, Suchismita Chakraborty, Punam Singh, Sharda Kumari, Swagata Banerjee and Archana Singh. They also encouraged the students and members of mothers ‘club for making this event a big success.
55 students participated in the camp. “We had lot of fun and learnt different activities through which we can protect our environment,” said Anvee Saxena of Std 5B.
The school organizes such camps annually during the summers to encourage fun times coupled with learning for the students.
