Jamshedpur, May 23: In a proactive move, Mango Municipal Corporation has taken decisive action against the illicit connection of motor pumps to the drinking water pipeline. This action was aimed at ensuring uninterrupted and equitable drinking water supply to the residents within the municipal area. Acting under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav, dedicated raiding teams were formed to identify and seize these unauthorized motor pumps, and daily operations were conducted across various locations.
The executive officer of the Municipal Corporation highlighted that the illegal use of motors during water supply posed significant challenges, particularly for the low-lying areas. Responding to the Deputy Commissioner’s orders, special camps have also been set up from May 17 to May 25 in different areas under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation, offering residents the opportunity to obtain legal water connections. This initiative serves a dual purpose for the Municipal Corporation, as it helps in accurately determining the number of people requiring water supply. Currently, with a population of approximately 2.5 lakhs, the Municipal Corporation only has 23 thousand valid water connection holders. In light of this situation, the general public is earnestly urged to visit their nearest camp and promptly apply for a water connection.
