Jamshedpur, Dec 8: Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) organized camps at different places in Mango to collect applications from voters for issuance of new voter ID cards and rectification of existing voter ID cards. The camps were held in Jawaharnagar Road No 13, Daiguttu, Old Purulia Road and Mango. Officials said more than 100 applications were received for issuance of new voter ID cards. A special campaign was launched to cover voters above 80 years of age, differently-abled persons, inmates of various shelter houses, third gender and others. Voters were informed about linking of voter IDs to Aadhar Number. MMC officials said the campaign was launched following the directive of Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum Vijaya Jadhav. All booth level officers (BLOs) have been directed to link maximum number of voter IDs to Aadhar Number, sources said.
Bonfires lit across Mango, courtesy MMC
Jamshedpur, Dec 8: Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) arranged bonfires at various places in Mango in view of the cold weather. Bonfires were lit at Old Purulia Road, Dimna Road, Dimna Chowk, Mango Chowk, Pardih Chowk and other places for the relief of poor and homeless people. The executive officer of MMC has ordered lighting of bonfires across Mango throughout the winter season.
MMC rescues homeless people
Jamshedpur, Dec 8: Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) officials rescued homeless people sleeping on footpath at various places in Mango on Thursday and sent them to government shelter houses. The rescued persons were provided bed, blankets, mosquito nets and food. They were informed about free facilities provided at shelter houses.
MMC officials said more people would be rescued in the coming days as mercury was plummeting with every passing day. Police help would be taken in rescuing such people, officials said.
