Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy optimistic of Swarnarekha Bridge construction approval

Jamshedpur, March 8: Jamshedpur East MLA, Saryu Roy, expressed optimism regarding the administrative approval for the construction of a bridge over the Swarnarekha River. In a recent statement, Roy highlighted the progress made in road construction within his assembly constituency, including plans for a bridge spanning the Swarnarekha River and a two-and-a-half-kilometer bridge connecting NH 33 to Litti Chowk.

Roy stated that the Central Designing Organization had forwarded the proposal to the departmental secretary for administrative approval. He anticipated the approval would be granted before the Lok Sabha elections’ code of conduct came into effect. Rai emphasized that the total expenditure for the project was estimated at Rs 77 crore, significantly reduced from the initial projection of around Rs 170 crore due to his intervention.

The MLA asserted that the construction of this bridge and road would alleviate traffic congestion in Mango, diverting heavy vehicles directly to Litti Chowk via NH 33. Roy also criticized the high expenditure of Rs 252 crore for the Mango flyover, suggesting alternative, cost-effective solutions to alleviate traffic issues in the area.
