Sedam/Jamshedpur, Feb 5: Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy was felicitated at a grand ceremony in Sedam, Kalaburagi district, Karnataka, during the 7th Bharatiya Sanskriti Utsav. The event, organized by Bharat Vikas Sangam, is being held from January 28 to February 6.
Addressing the gathering, Roy emphasized the importance of nature-centric development, which aims to restore harmony between humans and nature while ensuring prosperity for all living beings. “The relentless efforts of conscious individuals and organizations across the country are inspiring hope that soon, the concept of nature-centric development—where nature is revered as divine—will replace the exploitative human-centric model that treats nature as a mere resource,” he stated.
Roy further stressed that shifting towards such a development model would help combat pollution and climate change. “By prioritizing nature over reckless industrialization, we can achieve environmental balance and a sustainable future,” he added.
The Bharatiya Sanskriti Utsav is an annual cultural festival celebrating India’s rich heritage, with a strong emphasis on environmental consciousness and sustainable development. Bharat Vikas Sangam, the organizing body, was founded by eminent scholar and noted organizer K.N. Govindacharya.
