Apart from this, the issue of crime and coal theft in Dhanbad was also raised.
Saryu Rai raised the issue during zero hour that after the assassination of Indira Gandhi in 1984, there were anti-Sikh riots in the country, due to which the Sikh community of Jharkhand state was also not untouched. There was massive violence against Sikhs mainly in the districts of Palamu, Ranchi, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur etc.
The victimized Sikh families have not yet been able to get justice due to the indifference of the previous governments and the obstacles created by the authorities and they are also deprived of compensation. Satnam Singh Gambhir of Jamshedpur raised this issue in Jharkhand High Court through a writ petition.

The judge constituted a one-member inquiry commission. This commission was formed in 2016 and recommended compensation to only 41 people in seven years. The commission did not even visit many sites.

He demanded through the House from the government to provide speedy justice or compensation to the riot-affected Sikh family. The Speaker of the Assembly decided that this matter should be sent to the concerned department and that department should take immediate action in this matter.
