Jamshedpur, August 31: A teenager, Niranjan Hansda (14), died due to drowning while taking bath in Subernarekha river near Pokhari under MGM police station.
Niranjan had gone to take a bath in the river with his friends. While taking bath, he went into deep water and drowned. His friends present there also asked for help from some people who were bathing nearby, but no help was received.
Police reached the spot after getting information and took Niranjan out of the river and took him to MGM Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Niranjan, a resident of Turiyabeda, was a class 10th student of Simuldanga High School.
