Chaibasa, August 31: Accused Manoj Samad and Charan Samad were sentenced to 10-10 years of rigorous imprisonment on Thursday in the court of the Principal District and Sessions Judge of the District Court of Law, West Singhbhum.
Besides, a fine of Rs 1 lakh was also imposed. It is known that both Manoj Samad and Charan Samad are residents of Karanga village of Adki police station area of Khunti district. A case was registered against both of them for possessing the banned substance opium.
During checking near Chaki School on May 2, 2022, banned substance opium was found under the seat of the motorcycle (TVS Apache) of Manoj Samad and Charan Samad.
Chaibasa police arrested Manoj Samad and Charan Samad and sent them to judicial custody. After collecting all the evidence scientifically, the charge sheet was presented in the court. On this basis the sentence was given.
