Jamshedpur, April 25: A delegation of victims of Maxizone scam met Jharkhand Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon in Ranchi on Monday to demand a high-level probe in the case.
Oraon, who met the delegation at his residence, assured the victims of an investigation into the scam by a Central investigation agency. He also said he would be sending a letter to the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in this regard.
The delegation members said the victims were lured by the culprits with claims of unbelievable returns, participation of big stars in the scheme and other tall promises. Oraon said he would order a CID probe into the scam to prosecute the culprits. “It will be our effort to make sure the culprits are punished and the ongoing probe into the scam is expedited. We want justice for the victims and speedy action against the culprits,” he said.
The delegation members said the state government should help the victims get back their hard earned money and provide exemplary punishment to the guilty persons.
