
Jamshedpur: As the administration is geared up to ensure peaceful Assembly polls, the criminals are making their presence felt despite strict vigil in the city. In yet another shooting incident, the manager of a transport company was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Awadh Dental College� at Mukhiadanga� on the NH-33 under MGM police station area on Tuesday morning.
The victim, Vijay Kumar Singh (43) who was a resident of Dimna Chowk was rushed to Tata Main Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Singh was shot on his back, causing him to fall down from the bike he was riding close to the transport company, ARC Transport, where he was posted.
Soon after the incident, his colleagues rushed to the spot and rushed him to Tata Main Hospital, about a half-an-hour ride from the spot. The pellet was stuck in the spinal cord causing excessive bleeding which became the cause of death.
The police have recorded the statement of Ashok Kumar Powar, assistant manager of the ARC Transport as he had brought the injured to the hospital.
The police said unidentified assailants have killed Singh by launching a gun-shot attack while the victim was going to his duty from his house at Dimna Chowk locality.
“It is too early to comment. We are investigating the incident. We are in complete dark about the assailants as there were no eyewitness. But, we have come to know that the murder was an outcome of a land dispute,” said Arvind Kumar, OC, MGM police station.
The OC said they have started probing into the case and looking for persons with whom the victim had dispute. “We are talking to the family members for getting to know about the land dispute and also trying to detect the CCTV footage from the stretch so as to get a clue to the killer,” he said.
