Jamshedpur man jailed for exploiting woman and sharing obscene video online

Jamshedpur: The Bistupur Cyber Police on Monday arrested Shahid Hussain, also known as Mohammad Shahid, a resident of Mango Hussaini Masjid Murda Maidan Road No. 7, for allegedly exploiting a woman, recording an obscene video, and sharing it on Instagram. Shahid has been remanded to judicial custody following an FIR filed by the victim at Mango Police Station, later transferred to the Cyber Police for investigation.

According to the complaint, the victim, who has been working as a Reza-coolie for the past 2-3 years, became acquainted with Shahid during this period. Shahid reportedly seduced her, established a physical relationship, and secretly recorded an obscene video. He then used the video to intimidate her.

The situation escalated when Shahid created two Instagram accounts in the victim’s name and shared the explicit video and her photograph. The victim became aware of the content when alerted by people in her community, prompting her to approach the police.

Police investigations confirmed Shahid’s involvement, leading to his arrest. The case highlights the misuse of digital platforms for harassment and exploitation, with authorities emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach to cybercrimes.
