Jamshedpur: Tragedy struck a family from Mango Hill View Colony when Sushant Ojha lost his life in a road accident on NH-19 in Aurangabad district. The accident took place on Wednesday morning at Sindhuria turn under Barun police station. His parents, Ramesh Ojha and Rani Ojha, sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment.
Sushant, who had married just a year ago on January 18, 2024, had gone with his parents and in-laws to take a holy dip at the Kumbh Mela. According to his father-in-law, Shyamakant Pandey, the family was traveling in two separate cars. “Our car was ahead, while Sushant’s was behind. Suddenly, a trailer turned unexpectedly, leading to the fatal collision,” Pandey recounted.
After the accident, local police arrived, sending Sushant’s body for postmortem while his injured parents were rushed to a nearby hospital. His wife, who was at home in Jamshedpur, was initially unaware of his death. The family and colony residents were only informed that he was injured.
Sushant’s father, Ramesh Ojha, is a retired Special Officer of the Rural Department in Ranchi. Sushant had completed B. Pharma after engineering and had recently opened a medical shop. He was also preparing for LLB. His elder brother, an engineer based in Mumbai, is yet to marry.
The body was brought to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) late Wednesday night and the cremation was scheduled for Thursday.
